virtual therapy for Weaverville, NC
If you're in Weaverville and thinking about therapy, local options are limited — and commuting into Asheville adds friction to an already hard thing to start. Virtual therapy removes that barrier. You do the work from home, without the logistics.
I'm Lindsey Smith, a licensed therapist based in Asheville offering virtual sessions to clients throughout North Carolina, including Weaverville, Woodfin, and the surrounding area. I'm currently accepting new clients.
what I specialize in
My work is trauma-informed and nervous system-based — not just talking through problems, but working with the patterns below conscious thought. The things you understand but can't seem to change. That's where EMDR and somatic approaches come in.
anxiety & stress
Chronic worry, high-functioning anxiety, the kind that lives in your body and doesn't turn off even when things are fine.
trauma & EMDR
Complex trauma, PTSD, and the nervous system patterns that form when hard things happen. EMDR is one of the most effective evidence-based trauma treatments available.
ADHD & neurodivergence
Affirming care for adults with ADHD, autism, or who suspect they might be neurodivergent and haven't had language for why the world has felt harder.
identity & life transitions
Figuring out who you are and what you want, especially when your life is changing in ways that don't have a clear map.
how virtual therapy works
Sessions are HIPAA-compliant video — all you need is a private space and an internet connection. No commute, no waiting room. Most people find it easier to show up consistently, which matters more than people expect.
Sessions are 50 minutes, with 80-minute extended sessions available for EMDR and deeper trauma processing. I accept Blue Cross Blue Shield NC, Aetna, Cigna, Ambetter, MedCost, and the NC State Health Plan. Self-pay starts at $130.
who I work with
Teens (16+), young adults, and adults. LGBTQ+ affirming. Experience with helping professions, creative people, and folks who've tried therapy before and found it didn't quite fit.
